You must be checking your cholesterol numbers, thinking about your heart, or checking your sugar levels in the morning. But have you focused on your kidneys? People never give attention to their kidneys until something goes wrong, and that's the harsh reality. Dr. Varadaraju from Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, says that your kidneys flush out toxins and excess fluid, maintaining your overall health. And, they begin to slow down in your 40s.
Once you eat right and follow the correct food habits, then your kidney's health will be maintained, says Dr Varadaraju. People get it wrong that focusing on kidney's health means eating superfoods or buying expensive foods. People think that eating veggies and fruits will improve your kidney's health. But there is something not mentioned properly.
If you are experiencing any kidney illness, then it's better to stop eating high amounts of phosphorus or potassium-rich foods, as the kidneys have a problem flushing them out of your body. This means that what is good for one person is harmful to another. You should follow dietary changes according to your health condition, says Dr. Varadraju.
