Delhi Police shifted Sonam Wangchuk to Safdarjung Hospital on 18th July because of poor health due to a continuous hunger strike for 21 days. Sonam Wangchuk is currently on a hunger strike demanding the resignation of the current education minister because of the NEET paper leak. Due to prolonged dehydration, Sonam Wangchuk is in the hospital and stable now. According to the hospital statement, Sonam Wangchuk needs treatment and is kept under observation. The police admitted Sonam Wangchuk to the hospital on the Delhi High Court's directions. The wife of Sonam Wangchuk said that he was fine and there was no need for hospitalization. Also, Gitanjali, the wife of Sonam Wangchuk, said that doctors should not administer any treatment without consulting her and Sonam Wangchuk's family. Sonam Wangchuk has lost eight kilos due to dehydration and continuous fasting.
